Eaglewood is the hillside pocket of North Salt Lake built around Eaglewood Golf Course, sitting above the flatter ground closer to the freeway and carrying the elevation and valley views that come with North Salt Lake's bench.

Where the name comes from

Eaglewood Golf Course was built in the late ’90s, and that’s when the new homes around it started going in. A lot of people refer to the whole area as Eaglewood because of the golf course. Ask someone up there where they live and they’ll just say, “Eaglewood.”

It sits up on the mountain on the east side of North Salt Lake and overlooks the city. You can see all the way down to Foxboro on the west side.

I grew up on this hill

We lived on Gary Way, the furthest east street, and I was there while they were building the golf course. Before that, these hills were the wilderness to us. We rode motorcycles and three-wheelers and took dirt bikes up into the mountains. The golf course was kind of the end of growing up in the wilderness, if you will.

What matters on this hillside

North Salt Lake's hillside carries documented geology, including the mapped Parkway Drive landslide area, and I check the specific hazard data for any Eaglewood-area address a client is serious about before we go further.

Elevation is also what buys the view here, so how a specific lot sits relative to the golf course and the grade of the street both factor into price.

Buying or selling near Eaglewood

Buyers: ask for the mapped geology on a specific address before you write, not after — I will pull it for you.

Sellers: view and golf-course proximity are real value drivers here, and I will make sure a listing highlights the right one for your specific property.
