My story

How I got here
I didn’t find this career in a straight line.
Growing up, I didn’t feel like the smart kid. School was a constant struggle. I had a hard time focusing, my grades were poor, and I spent a lot of time feeling like I wasn’t capable because of my attention deficit disorder. While other kids seemed to thrive in the classroom, I wanted to be outside, on the soccer field, anywhere else.
After high school I served a two-year church mission in Baltimore, which forced me to grow up fast and taught me how to listen and show up for people. When I came home I worked in call centers, managed delivery drivers, and eventually spent 15 years in the wireless industry. That job gave me the schedule I needed with four young kids at home. It was reliable, and over time it became golden handcuffs. I had hit a ceiling.
Real estate came into my life almost by accident. A friend from church was an agent, and I asked him what it was like. A year or two later he encouraged me to get my license. I didn’t even know how agents were paid, but I said yes. It turned out to be a career that did not rely on how well I tested or how long I could sit in a chair. It relied on effort, honesty, and connection.
So when my company offered voluntary severance, I raised my hand. I could have stayed with the steady paycheck and the predictable routine, but something in me said this was the moment. Since going full time I have grown the business every year. Becoming a top producer in this area, and earning the Quality Service Award based on client satisfaction, showed me I had always been capable. I just needed to find where my strengths fit.
Meet Rich
Rich Castleberry, REALTOR®
I work with both buyers and sellers, which is what lets me approach a deal strategically. I know what buyers are looking for, so I help sellers focus on the details that actually matter when prepping a home. I also know what kind of offers sellers take seriously, which helps my buyers write strong, realistic offers that have a better shot.
I keep communication clear, I follow through, and I take the time to understand what you are navigating, whether that is exciting, stressful, or somewhere in between. This is not just a transaction. You are trusting me with a major part of your life, and I am here for you during the process and long after the sale.
My wife Carrie works part time in the counseling center at the junior high. Between us we have four kids, and being present for them, at soccer games, school events, and on a fishing trip to Alaska with my boys, has always come first. It is a big part of why I do what I do.
